Thorley Russell – Managing Director (executive role)
Thorley was the initial driving force behind the magazine´s creation. After identifying a clear gap in the TEFL market, he was inspired to launch a magazine with a difference: English presented in a fun way, with adult material using real English. Since the first edition of Hot English magazine in March 2001, Thorley has overseen the impressive growth of the company and its expansion into related areas, making the transition from a one-magazine publishing company to a nationally-recognised language learning enterprise involved in a wide variety of sectors.
Prior to coming to Madrid, Thorley worked in the highly-competitive London recruitment industry, where he was promoted on various occasions, eventually heading up the newly-formed Hays Senior finance department.
Thorley Russell has a business and finance honours degree from Plymouth University and is fluent in Spanish. He is TEFL-qualified, with TEFL teacher e xperience in London, Slovakia and Spain.
Andrew Coney – Editorial Director (executive role)
Andrew Coney has an an MSc from Aston University, a PGCE from Bristol University and a BA from in History from London University. He has 12-years teaching experience with all age groups in England, Hong Kong and Spain. He has published the following books with Espasa Calpe: La Gramática Inglesa; El Verbo Inglés, Inglés Fácil, Idioms, Phrasal Verbs, Hosterlería Espasa, Espasa Pocket, Dudas y Falsos Amigos and The Concise English Spanish Dictionary. He has articles published in prestigious TEFL publications including English Teaching Professional, and he has wide experience working with publishers on text book and course book development, principally with Santillana. He is currently editorial director of Hot English Publishing SL.

Ian Brameld (non-executive role)
Ian Brameld is a British Chartered Accountant, trained in audit and with experience of a diverse range of industrial/commercial sectors and size of clients. He subsequently moved to the then newly-privatised UK electricity sector, undertaking line accounting and analytical roles with a focus on new ventures and project financing. After a short spell at a major international contracting company, Ian joined the corporate finance division of an international investment bank, ultimately becoming Head of Project Finance Advisory. He has been helping implement a new accounting system, as well as taking a career break.
Stephen Hunt (non-executive role)
Stephen Hunt has 19 years working in Finance and IT roles. He is currently an Executive Director, for UBS Investment Banking IT where he is the programme manager for a group-wide finance initiative. Prior to UBS, Stephen was at Accenture where he spent nine years managing and implementing finance change that included Finance Strategy, Performance Reporting, Business Process Re-engineering and Finance Transformation initiatives. Prior to Accenture, he spent six years in finance roles at a London inter-dealer broker and American Express.
Stephen Hunt is a qualified management accountant, holds a MBA from Cranfield University and BA(Hons) Business Studies from Plymouth University. He provides Hot English Publishing with advice on their strategic activities.
Glenn Moore (non-executive role)
Glenn Moore is the Football Editor of the Independent, the English daily newspaper. He has more than 20 years' experience as a journalist, and has worked around the world, from Japan to the West Indies, Australia to America.
After acquiring the prestigious Diploma in Journalism from City University, London, he worked for a variety of newspapers, magazines and news agencies including Reuters, The London Daily Telegraph and The Melbourne Age. He has been employed by the Independent since 1993, and has published two books. He provides valuable editorial advice.
Gregory Morley (non-executive role)
After leaving Bristol University with a 1st class honours degree and a PhD in Chemistry, Greg Morley worked in research laboratories in Japan, Switzerland and Spain for 3 years. Since the, he has built a successful career as a freelance translator, technical writer and medical journalist. He is actively involved in the Mediterranean Translators and Editors, an organization for English language service providers based in the Mediterranean region (www.metmeetings.org), and is a member of the European Medical Writers Association. He overseas major translating projects within the company.
